God Sent His Word to Establish our Faith, Not Hollywood Scripts

I’ve never enjoyed movies or television shows that attempt to portray what is recorded in the Bible. I prefer to read the book.

The book is always better than the movie.

There is no substitute for the written word of God.

Jesus was sent by the Father to deliver the word. That was His purpose:

For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.

John 17:8 KJV

God inspired everything that is recorded in the Bible. No man can improve on it. It is meant to preached, read, studied and obeyed. It does need reinterpretation by script writers.

Christian faith must be built on scripture.

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Romans 10:17 KJV

Faith derived in any other way has a weak and shaky foundation. It will not stand when attacked. It will fail.

And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness; And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word’s sake, immediately they are offended.

Mark 4:16-17 KJV

We must know the truth to prevail. That cannot be found in Hollywood productions – it must come from God’s word:

…thy word is truth.

John 17:17 KJV

Faith should not be based on an adaption of scripture. The foundation must be the word of God.
